Bears San Diego would be nothing without our paying members. The membership dues, paid annually, empower us to participate in many public events as well as host occasional private parties from time to time. The dues cover the cost for our information flyers, parade banners and participation, website operation, and put on special events such as your annual selection for our Title Holders.
Membership also means you have free access to those same aforementioned private events and other discounts or special offers as they become available throughout the year.
Who Can Be A Member?
- Anyone who resides in the continental United States, Canada, and Mexico. It isn’t that we don’t like anyone else, we just lack any form of outreach beyond these countries. Anyone can be a member of our Facebook Group.
- Anyone who is not less than 18 years of age.
- Anyone who is human, regardless of sexual identity or gender identity.
Can I Lose My Membership?
The short answer to this is yes, you can. The long answer to that just needs some understanding. As an official 501[C]3 corporation, Bears San Diego does have ByLaws, and any paying member may request an email copy in PDF format. We can cover some of the more obvious reasons here really quick.
- Anything Illegal. This can be theft, assault, or anything that falls under the laws of the State of California and its municipalities where we sponsor or host events. This is a No Contest consideration. If you break those laws, you forfeit your membership (no refunds).
- Remember out tagline and motto—Frisky, Friendly, & Attitude Free Safe Spaces. We strive to keep our events open minded, safe, and enjoyable at all times. If you bring outside drama or create a scene that makes others uncomfortable, expect to be asked to leave. If you repeat the behavior, expect to hear from the Board.
Dues Payments
We currently accept payments for new memberships as well as dues renewal through our PayPal or Venmo accounts. We are looking to expand our membership options in the near future to include annual subscription services allowing you to automatically renew your donation. We also accept payment via Cashiers Check or Money Order, made out to Bears San Diego and mailed in to our P.O. Box listed below.
How Do I Join?
We have an online membership form and can accept payments via our online portal. You can also download a copy of our Membership Application from the link here, print it out, and either email it to us or mail it to us at our P.O. Box.
