Bears at the Fair

You heard it here first, the bears are invading the Del Mar Fair. We will meet out in front of the entrance arch around 1pm. After getting our tickets, we will wander the fair, trying out various delicacies such as funnel cakes, deep-fried Twinkies, and the like, as well as shopping for various knickknacks. Tickets for this year’s fair are going to set you back about 12 bucks, which is still not too bad for an afternoon of fun with your fellow bears. Word of caution, though: Bring cash for food, since most of the food vendors do NOT take plastic!

Directions: (from Hillcrest): Take Interstate 5 north to the Via De La Valle turn-off. At the end of the off-ramp, make a left onto Via De La Valle. Follow Via De La Valle to Jimmy Durante Blvd. and then make another left. The entrance to the Fairgrounds will be on your right. If at all possible, get there as early as you can, because if you have been to the fair before, you KNOW what the traffic is like over there during this time, so be prepared!!!
